TORRANCE, CA – AgnewBrusavich, a Torrance-based serious personal injury law firm, will host its 21st Annual College School Scholarship Program Banquet on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Doubletree Hotel in Torrance at 6:00 p.m. AgnewBrusavich will award 27 students from 20 local high schools with the necessary funds to assist in their first semester obligations for tuition, books, fees and participation in the Honors Transfer Program, which nearly guarantees a transfer to a four-year university.
Of these recipients, 11 were selected from cycling organizations sponsored by AgnewBrusavich, including Bahati Foundation, Beach Cities Cycling Club, Ironfly Cycling, Pasadena Athletic Association, Peninsula Cycle Club, South Bay Wheelmen and Velo Club LA Grange. The Banquet will also honor the firm’s Community Service Award Recipient Jim Hannon, Redondo Beach Public Works Commissioner and Founder of Beach Cities Cycling Club.
“We could not be more proud of this year’s scholarship recipients and our Community Service Award Recipient Jim Hannon,” said Partner Gerald E. Agnew, Jr. “Honoring this group of highly successful and well-deserving individuals brings us great joy.”
Founded in 1994, the College School Scholarship program was created to help high-achieving local high school students who are determined to further their academic achievements by enrolling in community college, but are unable due to financial limitations, as well as family or personal adversity. To date, AgnewBrusavich has awarded more than 500 students with scholarships to help with funding.
“Assisting our local community is the best way to give back. The students who receive this award every year have done everything in their power to get where they are, we just offer a little boost to solidify their great achievements,” adds Partner Bruce M. Brusavich.
