National Ride Your Bike to School Day – May 8, 2025
We're Rolling into Baldwin Hills for National Ride Your Bike to School Day!
On May 8, 2025, we’re bringing the Bahati Foundation’s Motion Equals Healthy Bike Clinic to Baldwin Hills Elementary School—and we couldn’t be more excited.
In honor of National Ride Your Bike to School Day, we’re creating a day full of empowerment, movement, and community pride. For us, this clinic is more than just a ride—it’s a chance to inspire young minds, promote health, and build confidence, one pedal stroke at a time.
Our founder, Rahsaan Bahati, will join us for a special school-wide assembly to share his journey from the streets of South LA to becoming a 10-time U.S. cycling champion. He’ll speak from the heart about how cycling opened doors, shaped his purpose, and became his tool for transformation.
We’ve also teamed up with local athletes, community leaders, and certified instructors to host a hands-on bike skills clinic for 30 pre-selected students. These students will learn:
Helmet fitting and safety basics
Core riding skills: starting, stopping, and turning
Group riding etiquette and road awareness
And yes—each rider will receive a brand-new helmet, courtesy of our Foundation and generous partners.
Leading up to the event, the entire student body will take part in a creative push to promote the message: “Motion Equals Healthy – Ride With Purpose!” Through student-designed posters, banners, and flyers, we’re making sure every young person has a voice in this celebration.
Tentative Schedule:
9:00 AM – Student and family arrival + welcome
9:15 AM – Keynote by Rahsaan Bahati + guest speakers
9:30–10:30 AM – Skills Clinic + helmet distribution
All Day – Banner/poster gallery + classroom reflection
This clinic is part of our broader Play Equity initiative—committed to making cycling safe, fun, and accessible for youth in underserved communities. We believe that when equity meets opportunity, lives are changed.
Let’s ride with purpose. Let’s ride for the future.
