Students experience Zwift gamified technology

On Tuesday, April 23 UCLA presented the 5th annual MLK Remembrance Day program on campus in Westwood. One of the key innovative components of the multi-event program is the X-S.T.R.E.A.M. Interactive Pavilion for Elementary and Middle school students. MLK Remembrance Day was started five years ago to commemorate Dr. King's 1965 UCLA visit to UCLA and envision UCLA The Beloved Community. The X-S.T.R.E.A.M. Interactive Pavilion more specifically, aims to demonstrate that the integration of recreation and art into STEM that provides extremely powerful learning opportunities volunteers and attendees alike. L.A. youth.

“We know that King thought of science and knowledge as tools of power and we hope to spread that power to our youth” said, Samiksha Chopra, X-STREAM Coordinator.

Zwift is a trainer game that has taken cycling by storm. Zwift is a massively multiplayer online cycling and running videogame and physical training program that enables users to interact, train and compete in a virtual world.

“It is really exciting to participate in this year’s X-S.T.R.E.A.M. Interactive Pavilion by provide the recreational aspect of STEM through our ‘gamified Apps’ for cyclist indicated, Rahsaan Bahati, Professional Cyclist and Zwift Marketing executive.
