#TEENS HACKING HEALTH: Teens Use Games, Social Video and apps to Help Find Health Solutions

The Bahati Foundation and venture studio firm, Beyond eSports, hosted its augural hackathon event #Teens Hacking Health Challenge as part of the 2nd Annual Bike Giveaway and Wellness Expo. The hackathon on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 8am - 3pm at the Lion Arts and Entertainment Center 4325 Degnan Blvd., Leimert Park Village Los Angeles, 90008.


#TeensHackingHealth Challenge is a teen-centric hackathon with the vision designed to encourage healthier habits, and fitness lifestyles among teens through leveraging wearable tech, apps, and video games. Six local area high schools were invited to participate in the Hack Challenge; Crenshaw HS, Charles Drew Magnet HS, Compton HS, Long Beach Poly HS, Educating Young Minds HS, and Dorsey HS.


We are looking for the BEST teen-powered team solutions that can bring awareness and create positive behavior change among teens around the “why” and “how” of maintaining healthy lifestyle choices that will last beyond theirs schools years, well into college, career, and adulthood.” - - Jaymes Hines, #TeensHackingHealth Hackathon creator.
